Volusia
County On June 5, 2008, the Volusia county council just passed a Mandatory Spay/Neuter (MSN) ordinance for unincorporated Volusia county, this goes into effect September 1, 2008. The council passed this ordinance, even though a large majority of the public speaking at this meeting, were against the ordinance. The next step is for the council to try to "persuade" all of the 16 cities within Volusia county to also pass similar MSN ordinances. We will be working on each of the individual cities to try to help keep this from happening. ALERT - The Volusia county council is also in the process of revising the pet limits and hobby breeder licensing ordinance for all of Volusia county.
